Each session finishes with a calm breathing exercise or a calming set of exercises to relax and restore.

Learn how to move your whole body efficiently in a way that is supportive and restores energy without leaving you feeling exhausted

Connecting your whole body as one to generate a feeling of harmony for your body and mind

This way of moving gradually, and gently, builds up muscle strength but at your own pace and within your own limits, helping the future you to have better balance, eased mobile joints and a stronger spine, while also supporting the body internal systems to improve digestion & breathing

Those with fatigue, fibromyalgia, & similar are welcome to come and learn how to move without effort and support their own well-being in a space to feel accepted while navigating the roller coaster of life.

Attendees with the following conditions have found the session  helpful

Balance issues, high blood pressure, Insomnia, Parkinson's, M.E., Fibromyalgia, Neck, Joint & back discomfort

Please contact Debbie if you have low blood pressure as this session may not be the best one for you as the deep relaxation can lower blood pressure

What to Expect

Each session is slightly different but usually follows a similar pattern

10.15am: Doors open

Debbie will be setting up the room while you arrive

10.30am: Session starts

This first part of  the session is 'easing, teaching & learning'

I will guide you, explain, teach depth and understanding, work with you individually to help you understand your own body and posture.  I usually have a theme, which could be exploring a qigong movement or considering body alignment such as how to move the shoulders or knees correctly and to consider what we do without realising may cause pain or discomfort. We could also explore energy, flow, beathing or how to stay grounded and centred

You can choose not to have personal tuition and adjustment during this first part, just tell me when you arrive

You can choose to stand, sit or a bit of both throughout this part

11am: Moving Relaxation

The second part of the session is all about moving meditation & relaxation

I will guide you through a set of Qigong movements, which are repeated several times making it easier to follow and gives you time to settle in and find your own flow. I will not adjust you or tell you what to do, instead I will encourage you to move at your own pace,  to listen to your body, find your own flow & let go. You are learning how to move without forcing your body to bring about a deep state of relaxation & calming your nervous system

You can choose to stand, sit or a bit of both throughout this part

11.40: You Relax while Debbie Makes you a Cuppa

12.15: Time for you to go home

We all learn in our own way and at our own pace

Group classes are a great way to learn, and consolidate what we know, in a relaxed way by following and being guided by helpful prompts

The group energy also offers a deeper experience

However, you may like to have some personal tuition and help with the way you are standing and moving, to gain a deeper understanding behind the movements

Small tweaks in the way you move and allowing me to help you to feel the movement can make a big difference

You may also want to explore some specific steps within a Form or look at the next steps in the sequence

I am not offering personal one to one sessions

I am offering a time on Sunday mornings to come along and receive personal, hands on, tuition.

By coming along to this class you will be giving your permission to be taught individually

I will explain, explore and work with each individual to help them in a way that they need. This is a short concentrated time of learning as we can only absorb a little at a time then we need to practice over days/weeks to integrate that new learning into our body and understanding

Beginners are very welcome and may find this part of the session helpful

You can just turn up on the day but it would be really helpful if I know that you are coming to either the personal tuition part and/or the full class afterwards

Fun & Relaxing

Everyone Welcome

Suitable for Beginners

Always at your own pace

Improves balance and flexibility

You can just turn up at any time

This session differs from the other 'Move & Relax' Tai Chi sessions because we enjoy different 'Forms' using Sticks, Swords, Silks as well as the Fans. This provides a more active strengthening session.

These Forms are usually performed a little faster but still done with grace, flow and calm.

We learn these movements at a slow pace, the speed happens naturally when you are confident and steady

We also learn the slow Traditional Tai Chi Form and Chinese Yoga breathing exercises to help to keep the body and mind in balance and harmony

We do not lie down on the floor
